When is our scheduled trash pickup? What else do I need to know about trash pickup, recycling and yard waste?
Our normal pickup day is Tuesday. There are some holidays that push pickup to Wednesday. See schedule here. By City ordinance, trash cans should be placed at the curb after 6pm on Monday, and removed/put away by 7 pm on Tuesday. Yard waste is picked up during spring/summer/fall. Where do I go to vote or find more election information?
Our local polling station is Kenbrook Elementary School. More election information is available at the FH City Clerk website.
The Michigan State Constitution underwent several changes in the last election cycle, introducing expanded voting options:
- Up to 9 days of in-person early voting (Costick Center)
- More drop boxes in crowd-controlled locations
- Enroll to a Permanent Absentee Voting (optional)
- Absentee Ballot On-Line Status Tracking
- Servicemen absentee voting up to election day, postmarked and received within 6 days

How do I get involved in the HOA or volunteer for an event or committee?
Use the Contact Form to send an email to the board. Include your phone number and let us know what you are interested in doing! We are always looking for additional board members, help with Events and other projects. We especially need an accountant or bookkeeper to act as Treasurer and/or help with tax filings and other regulatory tasks.
How much are KFHA dues? What are dues used for?
Dues are $25.00 per year per household/address and payment is required for membership in the Kendallwood Farms Homeowners Association. The Association fiscal year runs from June 1 through May 31. The last increase in dues was in 2004 and dues were made mandatory in 2002, both actions by vote of the Association. Dues are used to maintain the entrances, produce mailings, maintain the website, planning and hosting social events, and collaborating with local government.
How do I pay KFHA dues?
You can make a secure dues payment to the KFHA through PayPal by going here on our website. Dues are payable from June 1 of each year.

How do I know if I owe dues?
If you do not have a record of payment or are looking for older records, you may contact the KFHA Treasurer here. Records are kept for a minimum of five years and the active treasurer’s record shows dues payments for the most recent five year period and includes the resident and/or property owner’s name, address, telephone number and payment history. Dues records are currently on file back to 2001.
Why should I pay dues to the KFHA?
KFHA is a volunteer organization, but money is needed to maintain entrances, pay utility, legal, and other bills along with money for social activities. Any and all monies collected are used for the benefit of the residents as required by the IRS and State of Michigan regulations.
Does the KFHA mediate neighbor disputes?
No, the KFHA will not get involved in disputes between neighbors.
How do I report a zoning violation in the subdivsion?
You can self-report anonymously by calling the Farmington Hills Zoning office at 248.871.2520. If the suspected violation is not visible from the street, you will have to give permission (if adjacent to your property) for the officer to view the problem area from your property. You may also use the Farmington Hills Citizen Problem Reporter. If you still feel uncomfortable, you can report the suspected violation to the KFHA board through our Contact Form. You will need the address of the property and a description of the violation.
What are some accomplishments of the KFHA Board?
Advocating for subdivision in City Council, Zoning and COHA meetings. Installation of traffic signal at Kendallwood and 12 Mile Road. Ascertaining continued legal requirements and status of Bylaws and other legal documents. Ice Cream social, Easter egg hunt, meet your neighbor, etc.

Per Michigan Law, our Bylaws and Deed Restrictions are on file with Oakland County, located at 1200 Telegraph Road, Pontiac MI.
Fences - What rules do I need to follow regarding fences?
Many residents prefer the park-like setting of the subdivision backyards and don’t want their neighbors erecting fences. However, fences are allowed by the Restrictions governing the subdivision as recorded in Oakland County Michigan. These Restrictions state that “no fence should extend on either side of the lot farther than the rear line of the house on each side.” In other words, the fence may not extend beyond the back of the house on either side.
If you want to erect a fence on your property, the City of Farmington Hills has additional requirements, including a PERMIT for construction.
